Biography

Jason Barden has been involved in the Deaf community for more than 30 years and has a Deaf daughter and brother. Jason has experience as a classroom aid and volunteer at the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf in Phoenix, Arizona and the California School for the Deaf in Fremont, California. He has been employed as a dorm aid and assistive device specialist at the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind. Jason has also previously been employed as an educational interpreter.

Jason is deeply interested in Deaf Culture and history, particularly in the establishment of American Deaf Culture and the influence prior Deaf Cultures and signed languages established in Europe had on the formation of American Deaf Culture and American Sign Language.
