Biography
Jihyun Sung, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion, Interior Design, & Merchandising at Central Michigan University, where she teaches courses in fashion retail management, visual merchandising, and fashion styling. She earned her master's degree in Design and Merchandising from Colorado State University and later completed her Ph.D. in Consumer and Design Sciences at Auburn University before joining CMU in 2021. Her research focuses on visual merchandising and consumer behavior, including the integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles into retail environments and the application of emerging retail technologies. Her passion lies in educating future professionals and generating knowledge and insights through research in her discipline. What truly motivates her is building closer connections with students and helping them navigate their futures.
