Biography
Dr. Maggie Williams earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University in 2017. During her final year, she was the first-place award winner during the annual Fitch Beach competition, given for the most outstanding research record in the College of Engineering. She joined Central Michigan University as an Assistant Professor in Environmental Engineering in 2020.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of environmental engineering, molecular microbial ecology, and human health. Her specialty is identifying, developing and utilizing novel molecular genomics tools to best answer scientific questions related to the complex interactions between microbes and their environment. To date, she has authored a total of 28 peer-reviewed publications, and her current h-index per Google scholar is 13.
