Konya, Melinda

Biography

Melinda joined CMU’s Innovation and Online Division in 2024 as an Assistant Director of Transfer Student Enrollment.  Based out of Macomb Community College, Melinda serves students in the Southeast Michigan and Metro Detroit areas. She has a passion for working with first-generation, transfer, military, and student-athlete student groups.  

Melinda brings valuable experience to the CMU team having worked in several areas of education. Prior to joining CMU, she worked as an elementary school teacher, grant writer, career counselor, academic advisor, and academic coordinator. 

Melinda holds Master’s degrees in both Elementary Education and Public Administration as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising. A proud Michigan State University alumnus, she was nominated twice for both the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory and First-Generation Committees and awarded grants through MIACADA and NACADA.

A true Michigander, in her free time, Melinda enjoys traveling, cheering (for her beloved Detroit Lions), hiking, biking, and concerts, but most especially, spending time with friends and family.
