Biography
Dr. Katcher is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine for the CMU College of Medicine and a faculty member for the CMU Medical Education Partners Family Medicine Residency Program. He earned his medical degree from Ross University in 2016 and completed his residency at Adventist Hinsdale Family Medicine Residency in Illinois in 2020, then joined CMU as a faculty member. Dr. Katcher earned 1st prize from the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians for his residency research project on Food Insecurity in his resident clinic population. During residency he was awarded the “Resident Teacher Award” from his program for outstanding teaching of fellow residents and medical students. In 2020-2021, he was awarded both the Thomas J. Zuber award for outstanding teaching and guidance, and the Outstanding Clinical Teaching Award for Family Medicine. In 2022, he was nominated for the Excellence in Teaching in Medical Sciences Award by his peers. His special medical interests include diabetes, office procedures (including knee injections, shoulder injections, skin biopsies, minor cyst removal, incision and drainage, toenail removal, IUD, and Nexplanon placement), food insecurity, pediatrics and chronic disease.
