Biography

I am from East Tawas, Michigan. I attended Western Michigan University for my undergraduate education, and went on to Central Michigan University College of Medicine for my medical education. Family Medicine was always my passion likely because of my upbringing in a small town; I idolized my family physicians and realized at a young age how integral my family doctors were to our community and I loved how they not only knew their patients health needs but truly understood the needs of the community and how social determinants of health impacted their patients. I completed my residency training at CMU Family Medicine residency program, where I will now continue on as academic clinical faculty. I am honored to be able to both continue teaching and giving back to the future of our medical profession, as well as continue to serve the community that has given me so much. I have special interests in women’s health, pediatrics, and leadership in medicine. My hobbies outside of medicine include spending time with friends and family, exploring all that Michigan has to offer, yoga, going antiquing, baking, playing with my puppy, and reading.
