Biography

Rebecca has worked within the museum field for over 12 years. Upon graduating from Central Michigan University in 2011, Rebecca accepted a position with the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago, Illinois where she helped deliver high-quality educational programming. While in Chicago, Rebecca also worked closely with the collections manager of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in an effort to help document and organize their extensive Crinoid fossil collection. In 2015, Rebecca was given the opportunity to move to Dublin, Ireland. She attended University College Dublin and earned her Master’s degree in World Heritage Management & Conservation. Additionally, she assisted the collections team of the National Museum of Ireland: Decorative Arts & History with the digitization of their archival records. Rebecca returned to the states and became an Associate Teacher for 4th/5th grade with North Park Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois. Rebecca was able to establish robust after-school programming that continues at the school today. In 2019, Rebecca returned to Michigan. She worked closely with school groups (virtually and in-person) as the Science Labs Manager at the Ann Arbor Hands On Museum before accepting the position of Educator/Technologist here at the CMU Museum of Cultural & Natural History.

Rebecca teaches classes on Public Programming in Museums and Introduction to Museum Work.
