Kumar, Sanjay

Biography

Dr. Kumar serves as the Associate Dean and Professor of Management at the College of Business Administration at Central Michigan University. Prior to this, he held the positions of Associate Dean and Chair Professor at the College of Business at Valparaiso University and was a faculty member at Pennsylvania State University-Erie.

Dr. Kumar brings a wealth of experience in academic leadership, distinguished by a notable record of impactful research and exemplary teaching. His career is characterized by fostering collaboration within the university and the broader community, extensive experience with AACSB accreditation, and contributing to shared governance, including his role as Vice Chair of the Faculty Senate.

A staunch advocate for student success and institutional advancement, Dr. Kumar has significantly contributed to curriculum development, program management, faculty recruitment and development, tenure and promotion processes, student recruitment and retention, and international collaborations.

From 2018 to 2020, Dr. Kumar served as President of the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute (MWDSI) and was recognized as a Fellow of the institute in 2021 for his outstanding service to the community.

Dr. Kumar is a strong proponent of global engagement. He currently holds a visiting professorship at Zhejiang University of Technology in China and serves as a co-supervisor of post-doctoral research at the Hangzhou Gongshu Gongda Institute of Future Technology.
