Biography
Dr. Abboud, a Michigan native, has built a distinguished career in internal medicine. He began his academic journey at Wayne State University, earning a degree in Biological Sciences. Driven by a passion for medicine, Dr. Abboud pursued his medical education at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. Upon completing his medical degree, Dr. Abboud continued his professional development at CMU Health, undertaking his residency in Internal Medicine. His dedication and leadership were quickly recognized, culminating in his appointment as Chief Resident during his final year. In this role, Dr. Abboud excelled in patient care, mentored junior residents, and played a pivotal role in the residency program's administration. Throughout his residency, Dr. Abboud contributed to key committees, including the Hospital Acquired Infection Committee, where he developed strategies to reduce infection rates and enhance patient safety. Additionally, his involvement in the Program Evaluation Committee helped ensure the continuous improvement of the residency program. Dr. Abboud will be working as a hospitalist, leveraging his extensive training to provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients. He will manage treatment plans, coordinate with specialists, and ensure high-quality care from admission to discharge. Additionally, Dr. Abboud will teach on the academic service, sharing his knowledge and experience with medical students and residents.
