In our program, you’ll dive into hands-on learning within social studies contexts, accumulating 160 clinical hours before starting student teaching. This practical training is designed to build the essential skills you need for classroom success. Our teaching social studies grades 7-12 curriculum includes four courses on social studies teaching methods, and you’ll engage in enriching activities like team-teaching and volunteering with Michigan History Day.
As a teaching social studies grades 7-12 minor, you also have the option to double-minor in English or Math and choose the grade band you wish to teach.
