How to play disc golf

Disc golf follows the same objective as traditional golf—completing each hole in the fewest throws possible. Instead of clubs and balls, players use specialized discs, starting from the tee and aiming for the metal basket.

    Tips for Beginners

    • Use a putter or mid-range disc for better control.
    • Focus on smooth, controlled throws rather than power.
    • Be mindful of others and follow proper course etiquette.

    Disc Golf Rules

    1. Safety First – Always check that the area is clear before throwing.
    2. Tee Throws – Each hole starts with a throw from the designated tee area.
    3. Throwing Order – The player farthest from the basket throws next.
    4. Scoring – Each throw counts as a stroke. Keep track of total throws per hole.
    5. Playing from Your Lie – Your next throw must be made from where your disc landed.
    6. Respect the Course – Do not move or adjust natural obstacles like trees or bushes.
    7. Out of Bounds (OB) – If your disc lands out of bounds (e.g., roads, water hazards), take a penalty stroke and throw from the nearest in-bounds spot.
    8. Courtesy & Pace of Play – Allow faster groups to play through and avoid distractions while others are throwing.
    9. Completing the Hole – A hole is finished when the disc lands in the target basket.
    10. Enjoy the Game! – Keep the course clean, respect nature, and have fun.
