Welcome to Herrig Hall

Herrig Hall, part of our East Community, offers four-person suite-style living with two bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a common area for studying or relaxing. Conveniently located near campus facilities, Herrig Hall connects students to both academics and recreation. As home to the School of Music Residential College, it provides unique opportunities for music students to connect with peers. East Community halls, including Herrig, remain open during Thanksgiving, semester and spring breaks, offering housing during breaks for residents who need it.

Room rates for the 2025-2026 academic year will be announced after the CMU Board of Trustees approves them in the spring of 2025. Stay tuned for updates on next year’s rates and meal plans.}

Herrig Hall features

Each room features:

• Twin-XL bed: Each resident has a Twin-XL bed (36”W x 80”L) with options to bunk, raise (up to 32” of under-bed storage) or loft.
• Dresser: Each bedroom includes a dresser with six drawers (30.25"W x 20.25"D x 48.25"H) for storage.
• Desk and chair: Each resident has a dedicated study area with a desk (38"W x 24"D x 30.5"H) and a desk chair.
• Closet: Closet space (6'W x 2'6"D) in each bedroom for your personal belongings.
• Internet: Convenient Wi-Fi access with Ethernet connectivity.
• Shower curtain and window curtains: Every suite includes essential shower and window curtains.

Residence hall includes:

• Home to first-year, returning and transfer students with honors community opportunities: A supportive environment that fosters academic success, connection and engagement, including for those in the School of Music Residential College.
• Co-ed living by suite: This hall offers co-ed living with single-sex suites for privacy and comfort.

East Community features

• Central location: Conveniently located near the Student Activity Center, McGuirk Arena and Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
• Residential dining at Dine & Connect: Enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat dining experience located within the community, featuring a variety of food stations and open 7 days a week.
• The Market at Woldt: Offers grab-and-go snacks, beverages and more. Pizza King and FujiSan Sushi are also served at this location.
• East Success Center: Located in the Saxe-Herrig-Celani lobby, the Success Center offers support from a Care Advocate and an assistant director of Residence Life.
• Break housing: East Community halls remain open during Thanksgiving, semester and spring breaks.
• Fitness center: Enjoy convenient access to a fitness center located just steps from your residence hall.
