The university beds are twin-XL, except for Carey Hall where the beds are full-XL.

Creating your ideal living space begins with choosing your bed configuration. At Central Michigan University, we offer four ways to transform your bed to help make your living space your own. Follow along the video below to learn the four different ways to configure your bed.

Other items you may want

• A list that includes the make, model and serial number for any personal item you are bringing with a value over $100.
• Social Security card (if you plan on getting a job on-campus).
• Bike and bike lock (Optional. Remember to register your bike with Parking Services if you bring one.)
  

Sheets and linens

The National Residence Hall Honorary has partnered with Dormify to provide students with a convenient, affordable way to purchase sheets, bedding, storage solutions and everything else you'll need for your new home away from home. Please visit Dormify to start creating your new dream room! Proceeds from this program go to the CMU National Residence Hall Honorary for programming within university housing.

Microwaves and refrigerators

Bedloft.com also rents approved Combination Units (microwave/refrigerator) to interested students.

• A Combination Unit is a three-in-one appliance that combines a refrigerator, freezer and microwave, and is the only microwave approved for use in all CMU residence halls. Combination Units can be pre-ordered and delivered directly to your room.
• Other microwaves are only allowed in Northwest Apartments and Campbell, Celani, Fabiano, Kesseler and Kulhavi Halls.
• The Residence Hall Assembly student leadership group receives a portion of all profits which helps support programs and activities for all residence hall students.

Prohibited items

Items not recommended

The following items are not recommended as they may damage university property if used improperly, diminish air-quality and/or impact others with sensitivity to smells. 

• Air fresheners including wallflowers
• Humidifiers/dehumidifiers
• Non-university desk chairs, unless used with a floor protector mat
• Ice makers

Where should medications be shipped if they need to stay cold?

There are a few options for this, so you’ll have to determine what will work best for your situation.

• The medication can be shipped to your home and you get it from there when you visit (if you plan to do so regularly, which might not be possible due to distance).
• It can be shipped to your residence hall address if it is sent in cooler pack packaging. Be sure to include the street address, hall, and room number for processing. This all runs through the hall’s front desk, so you may want to check with Residence Life about their mail handling process. They will typically send a notification message to students when they receive a package for pick-up.
• You could update your prescription filling location if you want to pick it up at a local pharmacy. There are several options available in Mt. Pleasant, including national chains.
