Future Alumni Leader Award

Aaliyah Howard has been and continues to be a force of positivity and determination on CMU’s campus. From the beginning of her Central journey, she has been an important contributor to making CMU a more welcoming, inclusive and engaged campus. She is a Leader Advancement Scholar, a Newman Civic Fellow and a scholar of the year for Black Girls Rock.

Aaliyah was a student panelist during the Alumni Board of Directors’ spring meeting, sharing her perspectives on the university’s opportunities, programs, classes, leadership and more. She is part of the CMU Coalition of Black Empowerment, she is the engagement chair for Multicultural Academic Student Services, and she has worked as a mentor coordinator for Impact.

Throughout her time as a CMU student, Aaliyah has helped students fulfill their goals while she works on her own aspirations. She is pursuing a career in the law with the goal of becoming a judge. She’s driven to help others by focusing on integrity, respect, equity and social responsibility.
