Bachelor of Science in Nursing Overview
Nursing is one of the most rewarding and in-demand careers in healthcare. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) provides the solid foundation you need to build the nursing career of your dreams.
Nurses with a BSN degree are generalists who deliver healthcare services across diverse settings such as hospitals, clinics, businesses, homes, and other environments.
Our BSN program brings top experts in the field into your classroom, lab, and clinic. Care for patients, study, and conduct research alongside veteran nursing educators who know how to help you reach your professional goals.
At the completion of the program, you will be ready to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse (RN).
Program Snapshot
Why our BSN program?
Nursing is among the top five occupations projected to have the largest number of new job openings in the next decade. Registered nurses with BSN degrees are often preferred hires for those positions.
Our Nursing BSN program includes one year of prerequisite coursework followed by six semesters of professional nursing classes developed for students who have not earned a college degree.
Our small cohort size fosters deep personal connections with nursing peers, educators, and clinicians who will support you all the way to graduation.
What will you learn in our Nursing BSN program?
- Begin clinicals in your second year for earlier hands-on nursing experiences.
- Clinical rotations occur in a range of specialized settings, including medical/surgical, mental health, obstetrics, pediatric, geriatric, and community/public health contexts.
- Train in our state-of-the-art nursing laboratory and Interprofessional Education and Practice Center (IPEP) to put learned skills into practice.
- Engage in classes with RN-to-BSN students, build strong mentor-mentee relationships, and grow your professional network.
- Live among your peers in our living-learning health professions community right on campus.
